City Evolution (CE) shows the emergence of city patterns based on agent preferences. CE allows you to vary five model parameters and observe how residents and road distribution evolve.
In additon to seeing how altering parameters change city patterns, you can also see a side by side comparsion of rectangular versus hexagonal tessalation outcomes.
Green preference: The agent's desire for green within their neighbourhood.
Social preference: The agent's desire to live near other homes.
Neighbourhood size: The size of the neighbourhood an agent considers when counting green cells and homes within proximity.
Transport cost: The cost of traveling one cell in order to reach the central business district (the center of the crossroad).
Agricultural rent: The rent paid for agricultural rent and the cost of replacing green (farmland) cells with roads or houses.
